When visiting Shelburne County it is a must to visit Dock Street, to marvel at the historic properties that are still present today. Dock Street is where many museum’s such as the Dory Shop, Ross Thompson House, and even a working Barrel factory are located. There is also many local shops, and fine dining restaurants in this area. Some nice restaurants to enjoy include Charlotte lane, The Sea Dog Salon, Sophia's Cafe, and Scotia Lunch. Other notable places to visit are the Sandy Point light house, which at low-tide you can walk out to on a sand bar, Islands Park which is a provincial park, Lockeport Beach, Osprey art center. There are several unique shops on the main street, including The Whirlgig, a second hand book store, nick-knack shop and a stained glass shop.

There are numerous Festivals that happen throughout the year in Shelburne County. In June there is the Lobster Festival. In July there is the Canada Day Celebrations in Lockeport, there is the annual Jazz and Blues Festival, Whirligig & Weathervane Festival, and the popular Festival Founders Days that features events from musical acts, family games, prizes and fireworks. In August there is the Lockeport Sea Derby and Parade of Lights. During the month of August there is also a county fair or exhibition, which includes carnival rides, ox pulls, a petting barn and a beauty pageant.
